During the summer West Ham boos Alan Curbishley has brought in alot of players and let a few go. However, some would say the moves behind the scenes may have a longer and larger effect on the club.

Firstly, boss Curbishley brought in Mervin Day when he first took over from former manager Alan Pardew. That was the first of many changes behind the scenes. Being sensible, Curbs made next to no changes during the season as it would have a dyer effect on the team. During interview on Kumb.com he commented that he saw summer as he best time to make mass changes behind the scenes.

He (Curbishley) has brought in many of his staff from his long and somewhat succesful reign at Charlton, where former manager Pardew became manager. Curbishley and Pardew has had somewhat of a swap fest as they each hace bought in staff they are familiar with and work well together with.

So far, Kevin Keen has been handed down his old role as reserve coach whilst former Leeds defender Glynn Snodin has been given the honour of first team coach.

Some would say the medical department has seen some of the biggest changes as Nick Davies has been appointed as head of sports science after arriving from Charlton. Also arriving from Charlton was George Cooper and Dave Singleton who are the new physios. Cooper has been given the the role of first team physio and Singleton is the new reserve team physio.

West Ham have also bought in a new masseur from Charlton named Darren Page, after Eddie Gillam retired as kit manager at the end of last season new boy Steve Rigby is already said to be settled at the club and enjoying working there.

Departees from Upton park include Physiotherapist Steve Allen and Sports Scientist Niall Clark who have headed to the valley to team up with former manager Alan Pardew. Keith Peacock has also stepped down after 50 years in the game and Steve Brown has also left.

Thanks fort the article, a good read, looks like Curbs is bringing in his own men and who can blame him, he did a great job at Charlton and now has money to spend!

Definetly, we can only benefit as a club when our manager brings in familiar faces to him.
