Mon Aug 27, 2007 2:29 pm   Deano returns

On Tuesday night Dean Ashton will make his first start for West Ham since the 2006 FA cupfinal against Liverpool 472 days ago.

Mnager Curbishley has stated he believes Ashton is ready to start and is match fit after Ashtons's lengthy spell on the sidelines. Dean Ashton came on for 30 minutes in the 1-1 draw with Wigan the previous weekend.

The Hammers fans have been awaiting Ashtons start throughout the first 3 games this season. It seems on Tuesday we will all be given our wish.

PRE-SEASON

Dean Ashton was on blistering form in pre-season scoring against Orient, Norwich and most memorably against Roma.

He showed he is capable of taking on some of Europes top clubs as he terrorised Romas defence.

CARLING CUP

West Hams recent record in this competition has been poor to say the least. However, this is the first season Ashton will represent the Hammers in this competition.

Ashton has a strong record in this compettion having scored 4 goals in 11 appearences, despite 2 of those appearences he came on as a substitute. He's also only recieved one yellow card.

Fans are hoping he gest his first goal or more tommorow night as he can be seen as superior to the Bristol Rovers defence, however they shouldn't be under estimated after last years disgraceful performance against Chesterfield.

The game is live on Skysports 2 and kicks off at 7:45 pm. For those who don't have sky i will try and post a ink to show the match streamed live.
