SPECULATION has again surfaced linking Chelsea's Steve Sidewell with a move to West Ham.

Hammers boss Alan Curbishley is believed to be an admirer of the midfielder and has been weighing up a move for the 25-year-old for some time.

Sidwell has struggled with life at Stamford Bridge after arriving on a free transfer from Reading in the summer.

He has managed just 24 appearances, the majority of which have come as substitute, and is almost certain to leave when boss Avram Grant undertakes a massive overhaul of his squad when the season ends.

And that could leave the door open for Curbishley, who will be eager to bolster his Hammers midfield which has been decimated by injuries this season.

A bid of around £2 million should be enough to prise his man away from Chelsea.

GUARDIAN SERIES

With him i'd say get rid of Bowyer and we'll have Parker, Mullins, Noble, Dyer and him fighting for the centre midfield spots in the lineup.

Sounds like a good move to me which isn't going to break the bank.

I can't quitee remember if it is him but i think he grew up in the Essex area and is a hammer at heart.

Even if Dyer is out we still have Parker, Mullins, Noble and Collison... If we sign Sidwell, I'm sure we'll play 4-5-1 most of the time.
