WEST HAM'S Lee Bowyer is determined to return to top form in time for the opening league fixture of the season against Wigan.
The dynamic midfielder started last campaign with a bang, scoring four goals in ten appearances before his season was cut short by a groin injury.
But the 31-year-old is keen to erase the memory of his recent injury woes and replicate the form that made him a big hit at Upton Park last year, which also saw him notch his first goal for the club against the Latics: another feat he is eager to repeat.

"I have been in and working hard all summer to get fit and I am feeling good so I have targeted that Wigan game to make a full return and it would be even better if I could get another against them," Bowyer told the club's official website. "After the way I started last season and getting on the scoresheet a few times it was a very frustrating second half to the campaign so I am looking forward to putting that behind me."
Bowyer has also earmarked the first series of games as a golden opportunity for the team to get some points on the board early on, as the team have managed to avoid any of the big guns until the end of October.
"Knowing what the first fixture is gives you something to work towards and focus on being part of," he added. "And if you look at the first eight games it is a really good chance for a positive start."
