This from tribalfootball.com
West Ham boss Alan Pardew admits he may axe goalkeeper Roy Carroll after yesterday's 2-0 defeat by Portsmouth.
He said: "I'm pretty sure I know what I need to do and I've got some good people around me. Some grains of confidence are there to take from this game but little key areas we are falling down on.
"The goalie (Roy Carroll) I am going to have a look at because clean sheets are an issue. If I have any criticism of him I will keep it private."
Please,please,please be true! |

Ok, thought I'd continue on the positive note, just recieved this bulletin from the West Ham fansite myspace. It gives us a few good reasons not to lose heart completely...
Ok now i will put my hands up and say i came very close to losing my patients today but being use to disappointment over the years from the Hammers, you have to take these times and look for the positives and believe it or not there are quite a few:
- We arent the only team to be struggling, if you look at the bottom half of the table, there is just 4 points between 11th place and 18th (where we are)
- We have big players returning soon, when we are going to need it, Ashton will be like a new signing when he returns around xmas time
- New assistant manager coming in, could bring a whole fresh feel to the squad and tactics
- Tottenham next game, although will be very hard, may take a good london derby to bring the life into the squad again
- We went through a simular blip last season to then go on and win 7 games on the trot
- We have only played 8 games and still only in October
- Pardew has the resolve and patients to get them back to normal
- If we can get behind the team, We can take the roof off Upton Park and make any opposition intimidiated rather than us getting on their backs which makes them worse
I have dug deep to think of these points but i really feel this early on, its not panic stations yet, rather have the blip now than later, so lets get behind them, COME ON YOU IRONS!!!!! |
