All Gooners should be ashamed.
There were no British players, let alone English players in the Arsenal 16 today.
I think that situation is disgusting. I have nothing against using foreign players but English clubs should be supporting home grown talent. Little wonder we can never win any thing at International level.
As much as I hate Man U. you have to respect them for promoting home grown players, (even if most of 'em are bought from other clubs)
I think the premier league should restrict the number of foreign players that a club can have. It happens in Cricket so why not football? |

| I know what you mean. I have no problem with foriegn players if the're going to help young talent coming through by playing along side them but when you've got a team jam packed with them it stops the development of home grown talent which is why the England national team never achieves anything. Pardew was right with his comments last season. How is English teams doing well in the Champions League good for England when they arn't using English players? |

Not strictly true, Justin Hoyte is english (U-21 International) but agree with the sentiment, Arse only have 7 english players in their entire squad and most of them won't get a game (only 4 made into the 16 for the league cup game where he plays his reserves).
Hopefully EUFA will carry through the minimum english player rule they have been talking about, that would leave us with the most first teamers I reckon, because Man U has welsh, scottish and Irish players in their team who shouldn't be classed as home players.
Hammers all English XI + subs :D
Green, Mears, Konchesky, Ferdinand, Tomkins, Reocoker, Mullins, Etherington, Bowyer, Ashton, Harewood (Zamora, Cole, Sheringham, Noble, Reid, Ephraim, Walker, Stokes, Newton) |
