I've just seen that Beckham has been left out of the England squad for the Greece game. Personally I think it's the right decision as he's still coming back from injury and we already know what he can do. Let's try out some new players instead. Does anyone think he still has a role to play in the England team?

I think he does, although it will depend on how long it takes Terry to completly fill his role of captaincy. Beckham always had the ability to spur his team mates on. I feel his role in team spirit, rather than his football skills are going to be harder to replicate, and were more valuable to the squad.

I think it was fair to leave him out after all it was a friendly, but I still think he can play a big part in future squads. Everyone says it is right he doesnt play anymore as he isnt as good as he used to be, fair enough he has lost his pace but is he not one of the best crossers of the ball? We need that crossing ability, none of the players played brilliantly in Germany but he was still one of our better players, creating so many of the goals and chances. Lennon and Wright-Phillips have lots of pace but seem to run into trouble with defences too much so at the moment i think he fully deserves a place in the squad even if he doesnt start and thats my two cents :)
